What is DigiLocker, why do I need to upload my credentials to it?

DigiLocker is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) under the Digital India programme. DigiLocker aims at ‘Digital Empowerment’ of a citizen by providing access to authentic digital documents in a citizen’s digital document wallet. The issued documents in the DigiLocker system are deemed to be at par with original physical documents as per Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention of Information by Intermediaries providing Digital Locker facilities) Rules, 2016 notified on February 8, 2017, vide G.S.R. 711(E).

What are Pathways?

Pathways are short-duration content to build your digital fluency. These are structured based on certain learning outcomes and are specially curated and validated by industry experts. At the end of the 30-minute learning content, you can take a quiz to check your understanding of the concept. On completing a Pathway, you will earn a badge that can be shared on social media.
