In the post-pandemic world, India is most likely to emerge as the reskilling hub for the world. Tiger Tyagarajan, CEO- Genpact shares that 80% of companies are facing the challenge of reskilling but with systems & processes in place and frameworks & technologies working in tandem, this can be overcome.
NASSCOM, in collaboration with Indian IT firms, has reskilled over a third of its 4.5 million-strong workforce in 2020. NASSCOM, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) unveiled FutureSkills Prime, a digital skilling ecosystem to encourage remote and self-learning for Telangana students. Mr. Ranjan, Principal Secretary, believes that emerging technologies will play an important role, and the students of the state must lead this transformation. TASK CEA Shrikant Sinha also said that these free of cost courses on emerging technologies will benefit students, faculty members and other members of educational institutions.
4.12 lakh learners will get subsidized access to certified courses in emerging technologies like AI, IoT, Cloud Computing to upskill and be future-ready.

TASK and TSCHE have partnered with Microsoft and NASSCOM for upskilling one million youth in Artificial Intelligence by 2021. More than 20,000 students have enrolled for the first batch of the programme. 383 colleges across 31 districts from Telangana have opted for the programme. Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao has urged students to make use of this opportunity to be future-ready and actively upskill themselves in emerging technology.

Technical education minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia hails the initiative to upskill all engineering and polytechnic students. As part of this series, a three-hour online certificate course on Artificial Intelligence will be organized on December 18th & 19th, covering an introduction to Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and data sciences along with lab exercises. Those completing the course are likely to be the preferred candidates during placements in the final year.

The ‘State of the Education Report for India 2020: Technical and Vocational Education and Training’ (TVET), has featured FutureSkills Prime as a case study, recognizing the initiative as a catalyst for “infinite possibilities” for a “digital future.”
Virtually launched by UNESCO New Delhi, with over 400 attendees from the government, partners, academia and the civil society, the report is on skill development in India. It focusses on the technical and vocational training and education of Indian students, which impacts their employability.

Students and professionals will have access to industry-handpicked courses in 10 identified emerging technologies like AI, IoT, Blockchain, etc. and professional skills. The initiative aims to build ‘digital fluency’ among learners and make India the digital talent hub of the world.

NASSCOM, Microsoft and the government of Telangana have come together for an initiative to skill one million youth in AI by 2021. This classroom series will be a combination of self-learning modules, hands-on workshops, live demos and virtual classes, focussing on in-demand skills like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science. The session will commence on November 23rd.
On the completion of the course, learners earn a joint certification from NASSCOM FutureSkills and Microsoft.
